Not A Citizen is the collaborative project by Cristobal Jimenez Van Cauwelaert. It evolved from a beat making solo idea to a full band after moving to London in 2014. The sound that defines Not A Citizen is a mix of sampled hip hop drum breaks, jazz guitars and psychedelic vocals; all influenced by the UK’s DIY and lo-fi scene.

Now Not A Citizen has included Reuben Kemp on bass and Chilton Fawcett on drums to promote the self released EP ‘Flat 3’ and work on new songs.

As the famous John Lennon quote goes: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” This expression could not be more definitive for Scar Polish, moniker to Robin Fisher’s colorful patchwork of glitched-out melodies, whirling echoes and tie-dyed guitars, which seemingly came about by accident.

Shortly after moving to Berlin to pursue acoustic songwriting, Fisher’s flat was broken into, the thieves leaving behind only a small sampler. “Science Friction” is the demonstration of an unexpected change of course and the culmination of time alone spent digging into one instrument.

The 5 track EP, which follows on from the mind-bending debut video “Protein Coated Sadness”, treads the line between lo-fi psychedelic rock and gritty electronica.

Ghost Pony was created by singer and guitarist Julia Beresikowa in her hometown Erfurt. As she moved to Berlin, the band’s change of location was the perfect opportunity to expand its sound as well. What used to be a duo quickly became a quartet by first adding Elisa Bischoff on bass followed shortly by Franzi Smith as lead guitarist. Now under the name of Ghost Pony, there was another change being made: Hannes Neupert who already played alongside Elisa and Franzi in their former band The Mokkers and member of Mexican Radio, joined in on drums.

In this formation the group is making their way through the Berlin Underground scene since 2017, playing their own mix of Surf, Dream Pop and Garage labelled as Mud Pop.

Ghost Pony is a German band located in Berlin. The Quartett plays their own mix of Garage and Surf with dreamy melodies labelled as Mud Pop. Their songs are defined by swampy guitar riffs and a dark voice that sounds like a distant cave echo.

Scar Polish (Neo-Psych meets Indietronic)
Berlin-based Scar Polish, moniker to British-born Robin Fisher, is the final product of a transition phase. Taking an indie rock upbringing and switching things up with the inclusion of deranged electronics, the musician takes a new musical leap into dream psychedelia, gritty sampling and ethereal soundscapes.

Your Fever Creek Crew

Small but nice: This year, the Fever Creek Festival took place on only one day, but a little bit louder and with a great, international line-up. Together with Garage Psych Out we brought three bands onto the stage of the Garage Pankow, who are dedicated to psychedelic sounds. The evening started with the still very fresh band THE SHAMANIACS, that was formed in Mai 2018. After that the Koreans of Raw by Peppers with their absolutely consistent, professional sound rocked the stage. At the end, the three guys from Acuario Cósmico, who mix Psych with Surf Rock, invited the audience to a final dance at the evening. A big thank you goes to our great audience, to all who supported us and especially to the Garage Pankow. It was a celebration and we are looking forward to the next year!

THE SHAMANIACS

Treibend, psychedelisch, mitreißend – so kann man die Musik der Berliner Band THE SHAMANIACS am einfachsten beschreiben. THE SHAMANIACS haben ihre ganz eigene Weltsicht, geprägt von der schmalen Linie zwischen dem Gegensätzlichen. Auch im Namen der Band zeigt sich diese Verbindung des Gegensätzlichem: Einerseits der Schamane, der als Medium eine Brücke zwischen den Welten schafft, und andererseits der Manische, der wiederum eine treibende Kraft verspürt und das Verlangen nach einer bestimmten Tätigkeit. Sie selber meinen, sich zwischen Wahnsinn und Weisheit zu bewegen und nehmen ihren Zuhörer mit auf ihre Erkundungsreise eben dieser Bewusstseinszustände. Ihre Musik ist Spiegel ihrer Weltsicht: mal kraftvoll und mal zärtlich, mal ein spielerischen Necken der Realität und mal das Verlieren in Träumereien.

Im Mai 2018 fanden sich der Gitarrist und Sänger Ouss und Drummer Pat zusammen und holten den Bassisten Aram hinzu, Ouss Freund aus vergangenen Tagen als sie noch in Syrien lebten, und formten die Band THE SHAMANIACS. Das Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen: Treibende Gitarren- und Bassläufe gepaart mit verspielten Solis, dazu ein kraftvolles Schlagzeug – feinster Psychedelic Rock wie aus dem Buche. Alle drei kommen aus verschiedenen musikalischen Bereichen, so lassen sich auch Elemente aus anderen Musikstilen wie Rock, Alternative, orientalischer Musik, Swing und Blues in ihrer Musik wiederfinden. Als Inspirationsquelle dient der Wahnsinn Berlins, die sich kreuzenden Wanderwege, die Geschichten eines brennenden Krieges und zerbrochene Mauern. Ein Traum eint die Bandmitglieder: Den Rock wieder dahin bringen, wo er hingehört, in das Bewusstsein der Menschen.

The Shamaniacs

Impelling, psychedelic, rousing – that’s the easiest way to describe the music of the Berlin based band THE SHAMANIACS. The band has their very own world view, shaped by the narrow line between opposites. The name, THE SHAMANIACS, shows this connection of opposing concepts: On the one hand the shaman, who creates as a medium a bridge between the worlds, and on the other hand the manic, which in turn feels a driving force and the desire for a certain activity. They themselves think that they are moving between madness and wisdom and take their listeners along on their exploration of precisely these states of consciousness. Their music is a mirror of their worldview: Sometimes powerful and sometimes tender, sometimes a playful teasing of reality and sometimes being lost in dreams.

In May 2018, guitarist and vocalist Ouss and drummer Pat got together and brought in bassist Aram, Ouss’s friend from days gone by when they still lived in Syria, and formed the band THE SHAMANIACS. The result is something to be proud of: driving guitar and bass runs paired with playful solos, plus a powerful drum set – a textbook example of finest Psychedelic Rock. All three come from different musical fields, so you can also find elements from other music styles like Rock, Alternative, Oriental Music, Swing and Blues in their music. The source of inspiration is the madness of Berlin, the crossing trails, the stories of a burning war and broken walls. A dream unites the band members: Bringing Rock back to where it belongs, into the consciousness of the people.

RAW BY PEPPERS

Atmosphärische und verträumte Klänge, ein leichter zarter Gesang – so beschreiben die drei Koreaner von Raw By Peppers ihre Musik. Sie holt den Hörer ab, lässt ihn schweben und den Raum und das Universum durch hypnotische musische Klänge neu entdecken. Der Gitarrist und Songschreiber Gim Gahohn, der Schlagzeuger Lee Kwangmin und der Bassist Jinwoo Lee lernten sich beim Studium und Militärdienst in Korea kennen und fanden schnell ihr eigenes musikalischen Universum. Mit der Hilfe ihres Labels Craft & Jun kamen sie auf den Namen Raw by Peppers. Raw steht symbolisch für etwas komplett Neues. Peppers gilt als Hinweis, dass die Band nur männlich ist und ist als ein Augenzwinkern zu verstehen, da es ein Koreanischen Slangwort für das männliche Geschlechtsmerkmal ist.

Mit ihrem erstem langen Album „COSMOS“ aus dem Jahre 2017 knüpft die Band an das vorherige Werk „Spaceship out of bones“ an und thematisiert noch stärker ihre eigene Vision vom Kosmos, die Reise durch Raum und Zeit. Um die Energie, die beim Musizieren der drei Koreaner entsteht, vollständig aufzufangen, wurde das ganze Album in nur einem Durchgang aufgenommen und anschließend von Emily Lazar zu einem klangvollen Werk verpackt. Mit „COSMOS“ konnten die drei Koreaner schon in ihrer Heimat in der Underground-Musikszene Fuß fassen und zahlreiche Fans gewinnen. Im Jahre 2017 brachte dies der Band die Nominierung für den Korean Music Awards im Bereich Album ein, auch in diesem Jahr wurden sie beim Korean Music Awards für das beste Rock Album nominiert.

Nun wollen Raw by Peppers Europa erobern und touren durch Deutschland, die Tschechische Republik, Polen und Norwegen. Wir vom Fever Creek Festival freuen uns, dass sie auch bei uns einen Stopp einlegen und ihre musikalische Energie auf die Bühne der Garage Pankow bringen.

Raw By Peppers

Atmospheric and dreamy sounds, a slightly soft vocals – this is how the three Koreans of Raw By Peppers describe their music. It picks up the listener, lets him or her float and rediscover the space and the universe through hypnotic musical sounds. Guitarist and songwriter Gim Gahohn, drummer Lee Kwangmin and bassist Jinwoo Lee got to know each other while studying and doing military service in Korea and quickly found their own musical universe. With the help of their label Craft & Jun they came up with the name Raw by Peppers. Raw symbolically stands for something completely new. Peppers is considered an indication that the band is only male and is to be understood as a wink, as it is a Korean Slangwort for the male sex feature.

With their first long album “COSMOS” from the year 2017, the band builds on their previous work “Spaceship out of bones” and focuses even more on their own vision of the cosmos, the journey through space and time. In order to fully absorb the energy that emerges while the three Koreans make music, the entire album was recorded in one go and then packaged by Emily Lazar into a sonorous work. With “COSMOS” the three Koreans were able to gain a foothold in the underground music scene in their homeland and to win numerous fans. In 2017, this earned the band a nomination for the Korean Music Awards in the section album, and this year they were nominated at the Korean Music Awards for Best Rock Album.

Now Raw by Peppers want to conquer Europe and are touring through Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Norway. We, the Fever Creek Festival, are happy that they stop by and will bring their musical energy to the stage of Garage Pankow.

Acuario Cósmico

Argentinische Vibes im musikalischen Berliner Untergrund? Ja, auch das hat Berlin zu bieten. Acuario Cósmico wurde einst von Frontmann, Gitarristen und Komponisten Gonzalo Marinucci in seiner Heimat Argentinien gegründet. Im Jahre 2011 zog es diesen nach Europa, mit im Gepäck sein musikalisches Projekt Acuario Cósmico. Der Umzug nach Berlin in 2012 tat auch der Band gut. Hier nahm Acuario Cósmico neue Formen an und die Musiker Pablo Orrego, Bass und Gesang, sowie der Drummer Geraint Morton gesellten sich zu Gonzalo.

Die argentinischen Wurzeln der Band und der Berliner Einfluss zeigen sich insbesondere im Gesang. Mal sind die Songtexte in Spanisch, mal auf Deutsch oder Englisch. Manchmal wird einfach auch gar nicht gesungen, dann spricht allein der eingängige Sound der Band zum Publikum, der irgendwo zwischen Surf und Psychedelic liegt. Ihren Haupteinfluss sieht die Band in dem Rock´n´Roll der 60er und 70er, als Vorbilder für ihre Musik nennen sie nicht unbekannte Größen der Musikwelt wie The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Ventures, Frank Sinatra, Carlos, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors und The Sonics.

Nach den Alben „Nomade“, „Atención en el cielo!“ und „Delfos“ erscheint im Dezember 2018 die neue Platte „Die 10 neunen Planeten“ auf dem Label Blue Cat Music. Aufgenommen wurde das Album hauptsächlich im Bestensee Studio, ein kleiner Teil aber auch von Julian Moritz und Alex Richter in der Universität der Künste Berlin. Thematisch geht es in dem Album um die verschiedenen Wesen im Weltraum, auch autobiografische Bezüge sind auf der neuen Platte zu finden. Musikalisch versuchte Acuario Cósmico die Wurzeln des Surf Rocks zu erkunden und mit neuen Aufnahmetechniken und elektronischen Synthesizern zu kombinieren. Wir freuen uns auf das neue Album und auf einen gewohnt energiegeladenen Auftritt der drei beim FEVER CREEK meets PSYCH OUT Festival.

Acuario Cósmico
Argentinian vibes in Berlin’s musical underground? Yes, that too has Berlin to offer. Acuario Cósmico was once founded by frontman, guitarist and composer Gonzalo Marinucci, in his homeland Argentina. In 2011, he moved to Europe and with him his musical project Acuario Cósmico. The move to Berlin in 2012 did the band well too. Here Acuario Cósmico took shape and the musicians Pablo Orrego, bass and vocals, and the drummer Geraint Morton joined Gonzalo.

The Argentine roots of the band and the influence of Berlin are particularly evident in their lyrics. Sometimes they are in Spanish, from time to time in German or English. Or they have no lyrics at all, then the catchy sound of the band alone speaks to the audience, that lies somewhere in-between Surf and Psychedelic Rock. Their main influence is the Rock ‘n’ Roll of the 60s and 70s, as role models for their music they name well-known artists like The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Ventures, Frank Sinatra, Carlos, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors and The Sonics.

After their albums “Nomade”, “Atención en el cielo!” and “Delfos” the new record “The 10 Nine Planets” will be released in December 2018 on the label Blue Cat Music. The album was mainly recorded in Bestensee Studio, a small part was done by Julian Moritz and Alex Richter at the University of the Arts Berlin. Thematically, the album is about the different creatures in space, but also autobiographical references can be found on the new record. Musically, Acuario Cósmico explored the roots of surf rock and combined them with new recording techniques and electronic synthesizers. We are looking forward to the new album and to their usual energetic performance of the three at the FEVER CREEK meets PSYCH OUT Festival.
