RAW BY PEPPERS

Atmosphärische und verträumte Klänge, ein leichter zarter Gesang – so beschreiben die drei Koreaner von Raw By Peppers ihre Musik. Sie holt den Hörer ab, lässt ihn schweben und den Raum und das Universum durch hypnotische musische Klänge neu entdecken. Der Gitarrist und Songschreiber Gim Gahohn, der Schlagzeuger Lee Kwangmin und der Bassist Jinwoo Lee lernten sich beim Studium und Militärdienst in Korea kennen und fanden schnell ihr eigenes musikalischen Universum. Mit der Hilfe ihres Labels Craft & Jun kamen sie auf den Namen Raw by Peppers. Raw steht symbolisch für etwas komplett Neues. Peppers gilt als Hinweis, dass die Band nur männlich ist und ist als ein Augenzwinkern zu verstehen, da es ein Koreanischen Slangwort für das männliche Geschlechtsmerkmal ist.

Mit ihrem erstem langen Album „COSMOS“ aus dem Jahre 2017 knüpft die Band an das vorherige Werk „Spaceship out of bones“ an und thematisiert noch stärker ihre eigene Vision vom Kosmos, die Reise durch Raum und Zeit. Um die Energie, die beim Musizieren der drei Koreaner entsteht, vollständig aufzufangen, wurde das ganze Album in nur einem Durchgang aufgenommen und anschließend von Emily Lazar zu einem klangvollen Werk verpackt. Mit „COSMOS“ konnten die drei Koreaner schon in ihrer Heimat in der Underground-Musikszene Fuß fassen und zahlreiche Fans gewinnen. Im Jahre 2017 brachte dies der Band die Nominierung für den Korean Music Awards im Bereich Album ein, auch in diesem Jahr wurden sie beim Korean Music Awards für das beste Rock Album nominiert.

Nun wollen Raw by Peppers Europa erobern und touren durch Deutschland, die Tschechische Republik, Polen und Norwegen. Wir vom Fever Creek Festival freuen uns, dass sie auch bei uns einen Stopp einlegen und ihre musikalische Energie auf die Bühne der Garage Pankow bringen.

Raw By Peppers

Atmospheric and dreamy sounds, a slightly soft vocals – this is how the three Koreans of Raw By Peppers describe their music. It picks up the listener, lets him or her float and rediscover the space and the universe through hypnotic musical sounds. Guitarist and songwriter Gim Gahohn, drummer Lee Kwangmin and bassist Jinwoo Lee got to know each other while studying and doing military service in Korea and quickly found their own musical universe. With the help of their label Craft & Jun they came up with the name Raw by Peppers. Raw symbolically stands for something completely new. Peppers is considered an indication that the band is only male and is to be understood as a wink, as it is a Korean Slangwort for the male sex feature.

With their first long album “COSMOS” from the year 2017, the band builds on their previous work “Spaceship out of bones” and focuses even more on their own vision of the cosmos, the journey through space and time. In order to fully absorb the energy that emerges while the three Koreans make music, the entire album was recorded in one go and then packaged by Emily Lazar into a sonorous work. With “COSMOS” the three Koreans were able to gain a foothold in the underground music scene in their homeland and to win numerous fans. In 2017, this earned the band a nomination for the Korean Music Awards in the section album, and this year they were nominated at the Korean Music Awards for Best Rock Album.

Now Raw by Peppers want to conquer Europe and are touring through Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Norway. We, the Fever Creek Festival, are happy that they stop by and will bring their musical energy to the stage of Garage Pankow.
