Country-Folk ohne viel Schnickschnack: D. Cooper schreibt lakonische, sentimentale Roadmusik über die Liebe und das Sein. Seine Songs präsentiert er mit den einfachsten Mitteln der Stimme und Akkustikgitarre. Gelegentlich mischen sich Orgel und Mundharmonika unter. Live wird das ehemalige Mitglied von Deichwart und Florida Boys von seiner Band The Pigbirds unterstützt.
D. Coopers Heimat ist Ostfriesland, wo er zunächst als Schauspieler von sich Reden machte. Er spielte die Hauptrolle im Jugenddrama “Frankie, Jonny und die Anderen” (2005). Regisseur Hans-Erich Viets gewann damit einen Max-Ophüls-Preis, D.Cooper eine Erfahrung, die einmalig blieb.
Der Songwriter lebt heute in Berlin und kollaboriert mit Künstlern weltweit. Im Juni erschien nach mehrjähriger Albumabstinenz sein neuestes Werk “Constanța”. Eine Sammlung von Liedern, die in den vergangenen zwei Jahren mit Freunden in Ostfriesland, Berlin und Wien entstanden. Dazu gehören etwa der von der Kritik vielbeachtete Nino aus Wien und MoreEats. Bei seinen Auftritten stand D. Cooper mit Berliner Indieprominenz wie Jens Friebe, Christiane Rösinger und Erlend Øye auf der Bühne.

Country Folk without a lot of knickknacks: D. Cooper writes laconic, sentimental road music about love and the Sein. His songs are plainly presented only with his voice and acoustic guitar. From time to time organ tunes and a harmonica is added. When playing live, the former member of Deichwart and Florida Boys is supported by his band The Pigbirds.
D. Coopers home is Eastern Frisia, where he formerly was known for his acting skills. He played a main role in the youth drama “Frankie, Jonny und die Anderen” (2005). The director Hans-Erich Viets won with the movie the Max-Ophüls Price, D. Cooper an unique experience.
The songwriter lives nowadays in Berlin and collaborates with artists from all over the world. In June his newest record “Constanța ” was released after a few years of abstinence from album productions. It is a collection of songs that were created during the last two years with friends in Eastern Frisia, Berlin and Vienna. Part of this friends circle are for example the highly praised Der Nino aus Wien and MoreEats. At his live gigs he shared the stage with Berlin indie heroes like Jens Friebe, Christiane Rösinger and Erlend Øye.
